Print at the right size. Every time.
A quick guide to print sheets, paper and the 100% setting.
Choose the paper you will use
Choose a 4 × 6 inch sheet for a photo lab, or A4 if that matches your printer. The number of copies depends on your photo dimensions and the space between them.
Download the PDF sheet
A PDF includes the physical page size. Our JPG sheet uses 300 pixels per inch of intended paper size; ask the lab to print it on the matching sheet without cropping.
Select Actual size or 100%
Turn off Fit to page, Fill and borderless enlargement. These options can change the size of each photograph. Use the PDF’s page size and check the result with a ruler.
Check the application’s paper rules
Some authorities specify photographic paper, professional capture or a photographer’s stamp. Printing at home may not be accepted.
Requirements change. Check the official instructions for your exact document, age and submission route before applying.
